Solomon Water is pleased to announce the launch of its mobile top-up service for our CashWater customers. This means customers registered with BSP’s online banking are now able to buy a CashWater top up on their mobile phones.  After successful trialing we are confident this new service will work well for our customers.

Solomon Water CEO, Mr. Ian Gooden said, “We are very excited about CashWater and the new online service which brings greater convenience to our customers.  Now our customers will be able to top up their CashWater unit directly from their BSP bank accounts through their mobile banking service.  You can also purchase CashWater tokens for your friends and family using our prepaid CashWater system. This can be done at your convenience without the need to go to one of our cashier locations”.

Solomon Water now has 5000 customers on CashWater in Honiara. Our online service will help reduce payment risk, improve cash flow, and provide our customers with flexibility in their water management.  In addition this will help with water conservation and save customers money, as we have seen that our CashWater customers use 20% less water compared to those with conventional postpaid meters.  As with other top up services, a $5 fee is charged for each transaction.

Mr. Gooden said “this service was possible through the partnership Solomon Water created with Bank South Pacific. Together, we are committed to ensure this service is easily accessible to the public. This service is our third online payment platform following Ezi Pei and BMobile services which were launched earlier this year”.

BSP Solomon Islands Country Manager, David Anderson said “this is a crucial partnership that will go a long way in providing convenient and innovative banking solutions to our customers. Existing customers can sign up for BSP Mobile Banking at any of BSP's Bank Branches across the country. If you are not a BSP customer just visit one of our 8 Branches, open an account and sign up for Mobile Banking. You can then pay for cashwater direct from your Bank account 7 days a week 24 hours a day which will ensure you never run out of water again”

Many customers and businesses with staff housing are asking to have their homes connected with CashWater.  We are doing our best to meet this demand but can only progress installations at the rate we can get the meters shipped in from Africa where they have been very successful.  We ask our customers to be patient as we are forced to prioritise installations.

We’re with you in improving value, improving services and improving for the future - all aimed at delivering our vision of “safe water for a healthy nation”.
