Solomon Water is pleased to announce that tenders are now being called from eligible bidders for the construction and completion of the Honiara Water Supply Service Reservoirs contract.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and World Bank (WB) have approved financing for the cost of this very important project for Honiara.

The works include the construction, installation, testing and commissioning of three new concrete water reservoirs and associated works.

Solomon Water CEO Ian Gooden said “the 3 reservoirs, located at Tasahe, Titinge and Panatina are essential to increase our storage capacity of treated water so that we can better supply all customers with less disruption when we have problems on the network, or through shutdown of the Kongulai or Kombito supplies through illegal earthworks and sawmilling in the catchment areas.  Their total capacity is around 9 million litres which represents around 6 hours extra storage in the network.”

Construction should commence in September 2021 and completion is scheduled for December 2022.
